The Colorado Nurses Foundation (CNF) is an organization
dedicated to improving health care and nursing practice in Colorado.
We encourage nurses, nursing organizations, health care providers,
and consumers to work together for quality health care.
CNF is a foundation devoted to creating nursing excellence through
the promotion of educational and scientific activities and community
based projects. Contributions from individuals and organizations, grants,
and fundraising activities provide the financial resources for the
foundation to carry out its work.
The goals of the Colorado Nurses Foundation are to:
• Conduct and support health related projects that benefit consumers
and enhance the image of nursing;
• Enhance nursing excellence;
• Conduct educational programs related to nursing and health;,
•Promote unified action by nursing and health care organizations;
•Support educational scholarships;
• Foster creativity and innovation in nurses and their practice;
• Provide a mechanism for nurses and nursing organizations to obtain
funding for projects and research.
CNF offers the following two types of grants from which to choose.
1) Direct Grants
Requests for Direct Grants from CNF will be evaluated on the basis
of the following:
• Grants will be made only to nursing and health related individuals
and organizations.
• Maximum allocation per grant is $1,000.00.
• Applicants must reside within the state of Colorado and the grant funds
must be utilized within Colorado.
• Proposals must be related to the goals of CNF.
• Requests will not be considered for fundraising drives, building funds,
capital campaigns, or for individual scholarships.
• If funding is granted, the individual or organization will submit a
report on the use of the funds within six months of the receipt of
the grant.
2) Use of 501(c)3 Status Grants
CNF will also consider requests to utilize our 501(c)3 status to apply
for grants from other funding sources. These requests will be evaluated
on the basis of the following:
• Applications will be accepted only from nursing or health related individuals
or organizations.
• Applicants must reside within the state of Colorado and the grant must
be utilized within Colorado.
• Proposals must be related to the goals of CNF.
•
If permission is given to utilize CNF’s 501(c)3 status to apply
for funding, CNF must review and approve the grant application before
it is sent to the funding source.
• Individuals or organizations would be required to meet regularly with
the CNF Board or their designees to monitor the progress of the grant.
• Depending upon the nature and amount of the grant, CNF may require
indirect cost assessment for administrative services.
Proposals for grants or for utilization of CNF’s 501(c)3 status
should be submitted on the appropriate application form available from
the CNF Secretary and will be considered by the CNF Board or their
designees. Applicants will be kept informed about the status of applications.
Quarterly deadlines for applications are March 31, June 30, September
30, and December 31 of each year. For more information contact:
