Funding and Grants

Funding of Educational Activities
Support for Nursing Continuing Education

One of the ways in which CNF meets its purpose and goals is to provide funding for a variety of nursing education activities. Examples of funding for educational activities include support of the CE Day on the Nursing Shortage at the CNA Convention in 2002; Support of the CE Day on Strength Through Diversity at the CNA Convention in 2003; and support of the 2003 International Conference on Caring. Requests for funding may be made by nursing and health related individuals and organizations.

Grants

Individuals and organizations may apply to CNF for grants for educational and scientific activities and community based projects. Examples of projects which have received grant funding from CNF include research on smoking cessation, development of educational materials about the role of Advanced Practice Nurses, and support for purchase of educational materials for at-risk teens at a crisis center. CNF also considers requests to utilize our 501( c )(3) status to apply for grants from other funding sources. The Nursing Heritage Project in Colorado Springs is a recent beneficiary of this program.
